Infrastructure, energy and country indicators

How old the figures are, what a point stands for, and how to rank countries.

What you get: You can compare countries and read infrastructure layers knowing the vintage and resolution of each figure.

Steps

Switch on infrastructure, energy, economy and population layers individually in the "LAYERS" panel; each row gives its source, update cadence and resolution.
Tools → "Rank & compare countries…" opens rankings of national indicators; a country's profile shows the latest figure and its year.
File → "Make a data card…" turns indicators into a shareable graphic with their sources and years.

Every figure you use has a year beside it and a source you can name.

Country indicators are annual and lag by one to several years; the year is part of the figure.
A point on an infrastructure layer is where the source placed it — a plant, a port, a headquarters city — at the resolution its row states. A company mark means "in this city", never a street address.
Missing data is shown as missing, never as zero; the Data readiness layer scores what is missing separately from a confirmed zero.
Health and humanitarian layers (disease outbreaks, displacement, relief reports) are reports by agencies, each with its own date. A country with no report is not a country with no crisis.
